Visit the store from your device and search for "Sea Alert" or use the following links, then tap Install:

• Google Play (Android)
• App Store (iOS)

The application allows users to add navigational warnings. Note: Warnings added by users may be unreliable or contain errors. Rely on the information provided in these warnings with limited confidence.

To add a warning, tap Add in the menu on the map view. Enter the warning details according to the form. Fields marked with an asterisk must be completed.

You can enter warning locations manually or by selecting a point on the map. You can also use your current location by tapping the icon.

Confirm the warning by tapping the Add warning button.

The warning will appear in the system and will be visible to other users, along with your username.

The application administrator reserves the right to verify, edit, and delete warnings added by users without providing a reason.

Sea Alert licenses are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

To upgrade or change your license:

1. Open the Sea Alert app
2. Go to Settings → License
3. Choose your preferred license (monthly or yearly)
4. Complete the purchase through your device's app store

To manage your license (change plan, cancel renewal, or view billing history), go to your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Offline Mode is a premium feature (requires an active license) that lets you use Sea Alert without an internet connection—ideal for sailing offshore.

What works in Offline Mode:

• Offline maps — previously downloaded regions are available without internet
• Recently viewed map tiles — cached automatically while browsing online
• Create warnings offline — saved locally and uploaded automatically once you reconnect
• Last downloaded warnings — data from your latest sync

How to enable:

1. Go to Settings → Operation mode
2. Select Offline

Note: Offline Mode is available only to users with an active monthly or yearly license. After your license expires, the app automatically switches to Automatic mode.

To view the map offline, you must first download it to your phone while you have a stable internet connection. Downloading the map will allow you to use the Sea Alert app with full functionality, even when you're out at sea without internet access.

To download a map for the area of interest, go to Settings → Downloaded Maps and tap Download Map. Then, by tapping two points on the map, select the area of interest and enter the map name. You can also choose the map zoom level. The higher the zoom level, the more detail you'll see offline, but downloading the map will consume more device storage.

To confirm the download, tap Download.

In Settings → Downloaded Maps, you can track the map download progress, manage your downloaded maps, and delete them.

Proximity alerts are designed to continuously monitor and inform the user when approaching a navigational warning. The app allows you to individually set the distance between the user and the warning, which, when reached, triggers an alarm.

To activate proximity alerts, go to Settings → Proximity Alerts and toggle the switch to on. You can choose whether the alerts will work for all warnings on the map or just for favorites. You can define the distance at which you should be notified when approaching a navigational warning.

Important: Proximity alerts work for point warnings and MultiPoint. For area (polygon) warnings, proximity alerts are not available.

We are working on bringing proximity alerts to area warnings as well.

Automatic mode (default) – The app automatically detects internet access. When connected, it downloads fresh data from the server; when offline, it falls back to saved offline data.

Offline mode (license required) – The app always works offline even if internet is available. It does not try to connect to the server, which saves data transfer and battery.

Tip: If you're planning to sail in an area with poor connectivity, download the maps in advance (via Settings → Offline maps) and switch to Offline mode before you go.

To select the coordinate display format in the Sea Alert application, go to Settings → Coordinate format and select the format that is most convenient for you.

To report an issue with the app, go to Settings → Report a bug and fill out the form. Each report will be forwarded to our team, which will then analyze it and implement any necessary remedial measures.

To change your password while logged in to the app:

1. Go to Settings → Profile
2. Tap Change password
3. Enter your current password
4. Enter your new password
5. Confirm the change

Orange point – A point alert for a specific location (e.g., a buoy, obstacle, or hazard).

Yellow point – A point alert of the MultiPoint type, for warnings made up of many individual points (e.g., buoys, obstacles, or hazards).

Blue point with a line – A line alert marking a line associated with the warning or hazard.

Blue point with shaded area – An area alert. The blue point is the reference location; the shaded area shows the full extent of the hazard.

Gray point – An alert added by a user. Tap the icon to see details.

“Additional navigational warnings” are messages containing important information for mariners that are not specific to the coordinates or apply to a larger region. You can find them by going to the Additional tab or by clicking the “Additional warnings in this country” link in the details of each warning.

To filter navigational warnings, tap the icon in the map view and select the filters you are interested in.

To add a navigational warning to your favorites, select the warning and tap the icon. You can show only the warnings you've added to your favorites by tapping the icon in the map view, or by accessing Filters, tapping the icon, and then selecting “Show only favorites.”

The app offers two map options: Google Maps and OpenStreetMap. To choose between maps, tap the icon in the map view. Google Maps comes in either default or satellite view, while OpenStreetMap offers the option of enabling a marine overlay.

Each navigational warning can be translated directly in the app:

1. Open any navigational warning
2. Tap the translate icon (similar to the Google Translate icon)
3. The warning content will be automatically translated to your currently selected app language

In Settings, you can also enable automatic translation of warnings to your selected language.

To change the app language, go to Settings and select your preferred language.
